I’m Yufang. I'm a designer, and also an amateur creator.

I’m currently working on wifi service products and native mobile apps at Actiontec.
Before Actiontec, I was a freelancer in an agency based in Taiwan, mainly designing customized web pages and marketing assets.
Before freelancing, my career started with a local banking system of an IBM project as a system analyst.

I dissect things and put them together.
Working in a team, my role has been always involving spotting issues, analyzing problems, clarifying requirements, ideating solutions, and prompting buy-ins.

My design process

When it comes to design, I'm a big believer in employing the famous Double Diamond process, which is pretty the much industry standard. Base on it, I divide the process into more detailed steps as the diagram above. More importantly, I strongly believe in developing rigor around establishing a strong set of principles to guide you through any design project. When things get foggy, having well defined principles is the best way to help you cut through the ambiguity.

Hobbies
I have two cats. I like hiking. I play the piano and violin. I enjoy reading and learning about psychology, sociology, history, environment, art, linguistics, tech, machine learning, ethics in AI. When I can, I like to travel and practice my photography skills. I sometimes write, handcraft, and draw (mostly still objects and animals or creations reflecting my life. My next work will be buildings and street scenery and then landscape). Occasionally, I'll cook/bake if I’m craving.

Fun facts
I love sweet pies 🥧 , and I also really love experimenting and trying different pies recipes. To date, I can make 10+ different varieties of pies from around the world, sweet and savory, with flavors varieties of berries, ginger, fig, herbs, and nuts, trying different styles of crust and toppings.

Also, I am really addicted to documentary films. Ask me about the subjects that excite you; I might have a list to share (mostly from Netflix). 😁
